The September 11th terror attacks on New York and Washington brought the whole Alliance into the fight against international terrorism.

As NATO‘s activities in the international sphere are changing to effectively deal with complex contemporary security threats, we seek to ensure that civil society is adequately informed and aware of its role in the fight against international terrorism.

This youth seminar will focus on combating international terrorism and consider whether NATO has any role in this matter. The most exiting part of the seminar will the production of a Common Position Paper by the participants. Delegates will begin work on the position paper before the seminar begins, finalizing and adopting it in Brussels. Then, the final version will be presented to NATO Secretary General, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, who will address the students. Apart from the lectures and the final drafting of the Common Position Paper, there will also be time for social activities, during which the participants will be able to discuss various topics and make new friends.
