For the 11th edition of the Portuguese Atlantic Youth Seminar was held to Alfeite Naval Academy.The Seminar counted with 30 participants from 13 different NATO and PfP countries. The main theme of the Seminar was " Conflict and Cooperation in International Relations: The New Polemos".

During the opening session, the participants had a chance to listen to the Adm. Saldanha Junceiro, Commander of Alfeite Naval Academy. Other speakers were Prof. Luis Lobo-Fernandes (Minho University), Prof. Nuno Canas Mendes from the Diplomatic Institute, Dr. Sandra Balao from Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Dr. Marcos Farias Ferreira (Catholic University), Dr. Felix Ribeiro from the Ministry of Economy, and Mr. Daniele Riggio (NATO Diplomacy Division).

Beside these sessions, two workshops were held: one on Cultural Diplomacy by Dr. Andrea Valente (ISCSP), and another one on Iran, by Dr. Goncalo Curado (Social Sciences Institute).

The traditional visit to NATO Joint Command Lisbon was held, where the participants were briefed about NATO's transformations in general and about humanitarian relief operations, for instance, in Pakistan.

The participants had also the opportunity to visit Lisbon, to take a trip aboard a navy Vessel and to visit a few Navy ships, amongst other social activities.
